Zack started his running career at Courtice Secondary School under the coaching of Bill Cunliffe. Zack competed for Courtice Secondary School before competing for the Windsor Lancers Cross Country & Track team for five years (2013-2018). In 2021, Zack worked as the assistant Coach at McMaster University with two-time Olympian and McMaster head coach Paula Schnurr. The men's cross country team would win bronze at USports in 2021 and in 2023 Zack led the Toronto Metropolitan University Bold as their cross country head coach.

Zack served as the head coach of Durham Dragons Athletics starting in January of 2019 until the end of 2025. He completed his Club Coach Endurance certification in March of 2019. Zack furthered his coaching development later that year completing his Performance Coach Certification in endurance running. Zack also successfully attained his Chartered Professional Coach Designation (ChPC). In 2023 he completed his Advanced Coaching Diploma in addition to graduating from the University of Florida with a master's of science in sport management while specializing in athlete development.

Over 7 years coaching at Durham Dragons Athletes, athletes under his guidance have won over 200 medals at Athletics Ontario Championship over cross country, indoor track, and outdoor track. Athletes have won 16 individual OFSAA track and field medals with another two on the cross country course.

​

In the fall of 2024, Zack led the Dragons to their third consecutive AO XC Overall Club title with a record 236 points won over the two-day championship. Both U16 Boys and Girls teams would go onto win team silver medals at the National cross country championships.

​

During the 2025 track season athletes under Zack's coaching won 7 OFSAA medals and 10 National Medals; four gold and three silvers at the U16/U18 championships and a gold, silver and bronze at the U20 championships. Maria Linton won her first National title in the U20 women's 5000m run clocking a personal best time of 16:33.34 only two seconds off the championship record. Olivia Downey ran to a silver in the 3000m steeplechase, she also won gold in the U18 2000m steeplechase at nationals, and LJ Nelson won a bronze medal in the U20 men's 800m.

In the XC season Zack lead the Durham Dragons U16 boys and U18 girls to national team titles, while the U18 boys also won a team bronze medal. Hayley Martin and Ella Garron won gold and bronze individually in the U18 girls race.

​

Zack brings enthusiasm and youth to running while instilling a love and passion for the sport. His main objective is to create cohesive and trusting coach-athlete relationships with all his athletes.
